It was such a hit last year that we have to do it again --- but with a whole new cast of competitors. This year’s participants will have a focus on our area’s youth. If you were there last year you know how much fun it was and if you missed it, then here is your chance to join in on the festivities. We are talking about the NORTHWOODS NON-PROFITS GOT TALENT show. This will be a special evening to recognize the good that so many nonprofit organizations do in our area and enjoy yourself in the process. Each participating group will begin with a short video taped message to inform the audience about their organization’s mission, goals and needs. After which, they will then take to the stage to dazzle you with their talent. Celebrity judges will be on hand to determine who will be crowned the victor. In addition, each organization will receive a “performance fee” which will be put to good use in pursuit of their needs. These funds are available in part to the generosity of our sponsors for the evening: Merrill Lynch, River Valley Bank, Trig’s and the Lakeland Times. The Lakeland area is a special place to live for a number of reasons. The work of our non-profit groups and all that they do for our area is something for which we should be thankful for and proud of. Here is an opportunity to recognize their work, throw in their performances and you have the perfect recipe for an evening to be social and have a great time. The following groups will be participating in this year’s event: Junior Achievement, Literacy Task Force of Northern Wisconsin, Northwoods Children’s Museum, Minobimaadiziiwin, AVW Education Foundation, Girls on the Run, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Saturday evening September 10th is the date for this year’s show so mark your calendars. The evening will kick off at 5:00 pm with a beverage tent outside the auditorium with live music, with the show starting at 7:00 pm. This is one show you don’t want to miss so come early, support your friends, family and neighbors and make it a night to remember. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 and can be purchased from the Campanile office or from one of the participating non-profit groups. |
